Condenser is a 30-4455s but schematic says it's a 30-4170??? - Guest - 01-19-2008
I am about to recap my
Philco 37-650, but one of the original paper caps, a 30-4455 is represented in the schematic as a 30-4170.
How can this be and which one is it? Any advice?
Thanks in advance!

It was changed from 30-4170 to 30-4455 beginning with Run 4. Both are 0.1 uF; the 30-4455 has a higher voltage rating than the 30-4170.
Replace it with a 0.1 uF, 630V film capacitor and you'll be fine.
This change, as well as many others, are outlined in my
Philco Changes In Models package, available as a free download from my website.
See this page for more details.
