Another thought. For some folks a full size cathedral may be too imposing. We collect them so we don't think and reason like a casually interested (normal) person might. Ive seen these sell for 100 in working order and for some folks an example like this might be enough and at the same time have some fairly interesting historical significance

Nice radio (likely refinished), but doubt it will stay at that price.

A model 19 is a nice looking set with good sound. There is a set on eBay for a fair price. Here is the item #:141651908866
Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

Quote: I'm thinking about the 19B, but the shipping seems quite high to me: $63.
$63 is high for the shipping. It shows $22.40 for me, that sounds a little low. He does have some different shipping options though.

I have a couple of small Detrola cathedrals and they are quite attractive. My 4D, like the one you linked to on eBay, is also a great performing set. I was shocked at how many stations I could pick up with a very short antenna on that little 4 tuber.

That Philco 19 has dropped to $79. I'm thinking about it. I love that cabinet style.

Update: I worked out a deal for the Philco 19, code 126. Is that a shadow meter set? I've always wanted a shadow meter set...now I wonder if my daughter REALLY wants an old radio?
