Help needed to identification/value
#1

I have this Philco-Ford cabinet record player but I'm not sure what is the identity and value. Searching on the web (using the numbers in the back) I found a newspaper article with a picture of this one and says it is "The Laguna Model".

Can anyone confirm or bring me more details about it? It is working but needs to replace the needle and a couple of speakers are not working properly. I'll appreciate if someone can recommend me a place to fix that in the Houston area.

Welcome go the Phorum!! Icon_wave
If I'm reading the model number correctly, you have a 1960 model H322UDK. I don't believe it has a lot of value to collectors but others can add their thoughts.

Welcome to the Phorum!
Don't think it is that old as it is stereo and solid state. From the looks of it I'd say about 1970 or so. In terms of worth not much if in good working condition to the right guy maybe $25-50. Most here wouldn't give a second look.

You could be right Terry. I was just going by the age guide Ron has... http://www.philcoradio.com/age.htm

I agree, just too "new" for collectors which are most everyone here. It would no doubt sound a lot better properly restored than any of the old crap we are interested. Mostly into old stuff with tubes here. If working well, put it on Craig's List or e-bay and maybe you could hook up to someone who had that in their youth would like to pay some fair money. Most here would not take it if was free with free shipping. There is a market for it but don't expect any big bucks. If someone offers you $50 with local pickup, take it. If has some importance to you as from a relative, fix it up and enjoy.
Sorry, Jerry

Yep, its no older than 1974. One of the patentd was filed Dec 1974 so probably 75 or newer.

Thank you all for the feedback!!

1974...so must be one of the last Philco-Ford units produced before Ford sold the Philco name and consumer electronics business to GTE-Sylvania which occurred in...1974.

I guess by then the model number sequence did not follow any sort of rhyme or reason.
