mica caps 38-116 Philco
#1

Have a question for the philco experts.
Working on a 116 coded 121 and have a questionable mica cap.
If you look at Riders 8-85 there is a view looking underneath on the far left of the page.
If you look at items 31 or 32 on the parts list, they are specified as mica caps 250 mmf.
Is there a voltage rating on these if I  were to replace them?
One in question goes from the 5th trimmer shown in that view to ground.
Schematics are vague in this area.
I could send a pic if your not clear on what I am looking at.
Would like to replace it as someone in the past has done a crappy job of tying one in there.

Hi murf, I'm no expert by far, but if you have any 250mmfs I would remove one leg of the one you plan to replace and just jumper a new one in to see if it makes a difference. The voltages that would be minimum for that part of circuit I can't tell you for sure.
Heres a place that offer high voltage rated micas.

Good luck.

They are probably 500wv. There is hv on them from the 6A8. Would check them for leakage the value before bothering to replacing. It's part of the tuning magnet circuit.
