thanks sam

Some day, and that day may never come, I will call upon you to do a service for me. But until that day, accept this justice as a gift

Hi Sam
That set isn't tuneable per say, there isn't a tuned circuit to adjust the frequency. It does have a crystal that is used for a time base and that's what it use to determine the output frequency. What you can try is solder a small value cap (like 5-20pf) across Y1 (crystal). A trimmer could be use instead of the fixed cap. What that will do is shift the frequency of the time base a little lower.

When my pals were reading comic books
I was down in the basement in my dad's
workshop. Perusing his Sam's Photofoacts
Vol 1-50 admiring the old set and trying to
figure out what all those squiggly meant.

Now I think I've got!

Frequency wise, the AM25 is fully tunable, what the builder has to decide is what range of frequency to build the output matching network. You may need to rebuild the coils but that won't stop it from working on any frequency you select.

I've built one and are actually fairly good.

See page 18 of assembly manual.
