41-295....not bad at all.

I picked this up today from a lady who's dad had passed away last year.  It was serviced, tested, tubes replaced,  and totally gone through about 2 years ago.  I wasn't expecting too much from it. But it's pretty darned nice. Picks up stations VERY well, and has great tone. The bonus is, the cabinet is in really really nice condition. Except for the potted plant marks on the top, there is not a thing wrong with it.
The dial glass is very clean as well.  It's missing one one the little station ID plastic inserts, but I might fashion something to fill the space.

It's been in one family since purchased new. It has been sitting in a bedroom since shortly after being serviced, unused for the most part. The volume and tone wheels had some scratchiness, but after a little De-Oxit, all the dials are silent and smooth. The AM reception plays well above it's "pay grade". Nice and stable. Surprising.

All in all, a pretty nice Philco. Nothing rare or particularly special, except for the condition.  11 tubes. It rocks out pretty well, and it nice to find something that I don't need to get worked on for a change.

Thanks for the photo!  I've taken my cabinet apart and it's ready to be stripped and refinished.  This gives a pretty clear indication of original coloring.  I just completer the electronic restoration a month or so ago, and I agree that it is a decent performer, and that with the speaker out of the cabinet.

I noticed that your bezel is about as worn as mine! I need to find a way to refinish it.

The bezel really doesn't appear worn. Just sort of a satin finish. My pic might not show it very well. It looks better in person. If it is supposed to be real shiny, I suppose some sort of wax might shine it up a bit.
