My newly restored Philco 49-1401

I love this unit and they are such n easy restore.
New cart, new caps, oil, and sometimes a new idler rubber.

Very nice, Kirk! I have one too but mine seems to have the start of silver mica disease. The 1948 and 1949 1201's are prone to that.

I have restored at least 5 of these and never had that happen. Thank heavens because I am no pro with replacing the mica sheets with resistors? caps? I cant even remember, Icon_lol

Yes I should have said the 1948 model 1201 and 1948 - 49 model 1401's use those mini IF cans that are prone to silver mica. Never had that happen on the 1946-47 model 1201's, as they use the larger IF cans, but my 49-1401 has that familiar whoosing / crackling sound at low volume.
