Where are the service threads?
#1

I see that  a lot of links have changed.  I am trying to find this.... an old link   https://www.philcorepairbench.com/tips/svctip38.htm
I am trying to get some info on the 37-116 clarifiers.  Specifically is there  a test to see if they are working.

The small end of the cone is vibrating...so do i assume they are working then?  I dont have the problems others have had with the separation etc.  Still would like to read the article...i read it has info on them in this old article.

Why did you guys change all the links?

Thanks,

Bill

We have no control over external websites such as the Philco Repair Bench. Not only did we not change any links there, we are unable to do so even if we wanted to.

His service tips are HERE. And the article you are looking for is HERE.

Most service info on this website may be found in the Philco Library with a little more in the Phorum's Philco Restoration Notebook forum.

If the cones are intact and the rubber parts are pliable and the speakers are mounted in the correct position in the original cabinet - then they are working. In the 37-116 they are passive reflectors used to reduce the boominess of the bass - which was a thing back then. Ah, if they could only hear a 10KW stereo in a Toyota Carola - those were the days)

Renovated Radios do carry what you need. As for the voltage, a wire should be at least 300V-rated.morzh — 11:13 PM
