Is there any reason to keep this "Arcs-a-lot" 4231J Filter Choke?
Aside from its potential as a workbench paperweight, I can't see a reason to keep it but I thought I'd post to ask.

I see no one answered your question about the choke. You did the right thing - if the old choke was bad, the trash can is the proper place for it.
