42-380 cabinet update
#1

[Image: http://i833.photobucket.com/albums/zz254...000192.jpg]
Just got the cabinet back from the furniture restoration shop. They stripped and refinished the cabinet without redoing the photo finish, one it cost too much and two I'm not much into faux finishes. They made it look like many of the cabinets of that period and we went over photo's of various radio cabinets and decided on a dark mahogany to complement the existing finish. Cost was $308.00. Overall good job. There was one problem where the veneer rounds over the top. When I got it home there appeared to be a small white line about 2" long. It turned out to be a crack in the veneer under the varnish. It's back getting that fixed. We might end up replacing the veneer anyhow depending on how sucessful the repair goes.
