Well, I got myself in jam. While doing the alignment on a 630 CSX, I managed to back out the screw for one of the compensating caps in the RF transformer. Now, it’s rattling around inside and I can’t get it out. How can I get the cover off? There are four two-pronged tabs that probably snapped into place back in the day but I can’t figure out how to release them. Maybe the transformer can come out from underneath once the connecting wires are desoldered and the two screws on top are removed? Any tips?
Hello, Get some needle nose pliers and pinch the tabs under the chassis. I find it helpful to use a flat tip screw driver to hold the tabs up on one side of the can on top of chassis. then do the other. Take the screws or nuts on top of can off first. You also might have to desolder the tube grid clip if it has one to get the can all the way off.
Hope this helps.
