650X Grille Cloth
#1

Does anyone have a good source for Grille Cloth for a 1936 650X Console.  It is a V (Chevron) pattern.  See attached pictures.

Have you looked at Mike Katz' place?

People who do not drink, do not smoke, do not eat red meat will one day feel really stupid lying there and dying from nothing.

That would be Mike Katz at

I did but the color of his V pattern (#14) is opposite of what mine is. The gaps on mine are lighter and the lines brown.

Interesting. I hadn't noticed that his pattern was the opposite.

Was there possibly two (or more) versions that Philco used?

So, I went through my collection last night, looking at V cloth and what I noted was:
-Mike Katz duplicated the 37-116 cloth
-Seems that version of the V cloth is different from what they used in other 1934-38 sets.
-Philco changed the pattern to accommodate the grille openings and allow the use of one cloth vs having to splice in three separate pieces to get the V centered.
-The reproduction cloth he produced 30 years ago is ALSO a duplication of the 37-116 cloth...never noticed this until now.
