42-355 dial cord
#16

The 42-395 was a match so I was able to do the dial cord. Took 3 tries but I got it. Thank you all for your help

Dial cords can seem bewildering at times, and the factory diagrams are not always clear, assuming they actually have one It's good that they used this arrangement on one then more set, and had a better diagram for the second. The better diagrams I have seen are what they used to call "exploded" in that they show the number of turns around each pulley, and where they slot in. Anyhow what usually messes people up is either not wrapping enough cord in the drum, so the dial stops working half way, or wrapping the cord around the control shaft such that the the dial goes left when you rotate the knob right.

Thank you for persevering. Now I can update my copy of the Sams dial stringing guides to include the 42-355 and 42-390.
