48-1286 Restoration and the 6AU6
#1

My 6AU6 is dark and cold but the radio works fine (AM much stronger than FM) but the phono outputs no sound. It looks like the 6AU6 is part of the FM RF section so a replacement is on the way. Any tips for getting sound out of the phono section?

The Rider's copy on NA is illegible so cannot tell much.
Start from checking the usual. Is your pickup working?
Touch the input, see if you get the buzz.
Basic stuff.

A new 6au6 fixed the weak FM. The cartridge (sugestions?) must be bad because the input works fine. I really didn't like this unit at first, but I have to admit it's growing on me.
