Philco 42-380 Presets
#1

I would like to set the 5 preset buttons on a Philco 42-380 console. I see on the back of the chassis there are two rows of 5 trimmers. Is the top row which have each trimmer labeled 1-5 the trimmers that adjust the preset buttons? The lower row of 5 trimmers are labeled 540, 600, 650, 850, 900. Thanks, Charlie

I believe you adjust the lower 1-5 coils to the station you want that's in the range of that particular coil, and use the trimmer on the top of that coil to fine adjust the station. Or it could be the other way around.

If the stations are strong enough you can tune the coils/trimmers without to much trouble, but if there is a weak station you might have to use an signal generator to tune in on the stations frequency.
