A few years ago I was given a model 47DC. I didn't realize that anyone made a radio that was intended for DC line voltage only. I came up with a rather simple way to adapt it for 120V AC operation and it plays just fine.

I used to have a Philco 47B. I sort of wish that I had kept it, but it's just as well that it is gone now. It looked just like a 71B with a shadowmeter. Mine had been converted to AC with the addition of a power transformer.
