Back of a 41-220
#1

Hi,
I just recently got interested in restoring old tube radios. I purchased a 41-220 on ebay for $30. I chose Philco because many years ago I lived in North Philadelphia in the neck of the woods (Port Richmond) where Philco had their plants (I'm 66). Anyway, I am delighted to find folks that have the same mind as myself. The radio in question is missing its back and its antenna. Are there any suggestions on either acquiring one or making something. All help is greatly appreciated. Icon_smile

I don't have a 41-220, but it looks similar to a 40-120 that I do have. The 40-120 has a loop antenna with some windings that serve as an 'electrostatic shield' supposedly. If the 41-220 used this same antenna, this website details on how the antenna and taps are constructed:

Hope that helps!

EDIT: Looked at the print for a 41-220 and don't see the taps referenced at all. The antenna is probably different - sorry!
