Does anyone make the correct speaker cloth for this cathedral? The label only says Model 60, not 60B, etc...
The one I'm contemplating buying has nice cloth, but has a pinkie finger sized stretched dimple in the cloth, supposedly, not a hole. I may need to replace the cloth or attempt to moisten that spot and shrink it with a hair dryer, if that's possible.
Any thoughts?

Which 60 are you planning on buying? See Ron's page of versions of cabinets: http://www.philcoradio.com/tech/60evol.htm
I know the 60MB is not reproduced but I did find a cloth online that was pretty close.

Where did you find it, Bob? I have a 60MB that will be needing some cloth...

Bob,
It's the one on the right side marked July '34 or the one on the left, second row marked June'35. That's the style cloth.

You want GRC05 from Radio Daze.

Incidentally, the greenish lines should be vertical, not horizontal as shown in the Radio Daze photo.

Thanks Ron. Now to get that radio home. Anyone have thoughts about shrinking the stretched spot before I have to consider replacing the grille cloth??

Hey,
How big is the indent and how deep?
Shrinking the fabric is doubtful but you may be able to press it flat and iron it between 2 towels or pieces of fabric.
Just be cautious that the old glue may stick to the piece it is attached to so be careful.

Kirk,
It looks like it's about 1/2"-3/4" in diameter and maybe 3/8" deep. I think between two moist towels with the iron might be the trick. Steaming is how they tighten seat material at the upholstery shop my friends run... I was worried that if I sprayed liquid on the cloth and then used the hair dryer, it would release 80 years of soiling from the cloth and stain it. I added a picture of the radio. Not the clearest, but it's the best I have right now.

Hey Ron, I was able to track down the order I made for the 60MB grille cloth and it was from the same vendor but may be a slightly different cloth than what I posted above. See:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/ANTIQUE-RADIO-GR...5b1b358b18
This one looks a little different in his photos ... hard to tell by viewing on line but I think this one looks more like the original cloth than what I posted earlier. Anyway...the above (or the 12 x18 version of it) was what I bought. Sorry for any confusion.
