Philco - Made in Argentina
#1

The vertical indications on the dial are call letters for the regional stations for Argentina and Uruguay. Not mine, belongs to my buddy Mario.

Note from site admin: Sorry, but the photo which was attached to this post is no longer available.

Now that's cool! The cabinet is identical to the USA 46-431, but the tuning range is different (and the scale is backwards compared to the 46-431).

I didn't note what model number they called it. The decals around the knobs like "VOLUME" are in English so maybe the cabinet was imported but the chassis manufactured locally. There's many such combinations down there with Zenith, RCA, Philco as well as some of the European brands.

Here's another weird bird. The escutcheon carries some name other than Philco. Could be that somebody replaced it along the way? The chassis has been hacked up for miniature tubes so its impossible to really identify what it was originally.

Now THAT is an oddity for sure! It looks like a Philco Jr. Model 81, yet it has an inset control panel instead of the flat front used on the USA Model 81 sets.
