Inverter specs needed?
#1

I just signed up to participate in my church’s Trunk or Treat. I want to power one of my Philcos from an inverter powered by the truck battery. I’m considering one of these 3:
37-610T bullet,
1935 66S, with a 66B chassis installed,
Or my 1936 620B tombstone.
My question is what wattage inverter would I need to power one of these, and would it drain my battery too much at 2 hours of use?
Thanks for any help, tips or suggestions!
(I also want to power a tabletop Tiffany lamp, with a low wattage led bulb.)

The 66B and the 37-610 are both 60 watt sets.  The 620 consumes 65 watts.   I would think an inverter that handled three hundred watts should do the job but I have no idea what the effect of that has on your battery drain since I don't have one of these but based on some info I found online ( https://www.donrowe.com/power-inverter-faq-a/258.htm ) you probably want to keep the motor running for at least some of that 2 hours.

The 66 is rated at 60W. So if you have a 120W inverter, all these radios should work.

People who do not drink, do not smoke, do not eat red meat will one day feel really stupid lying there and dying from nothing.

You are going to need to know the AH rating on your truck battery (and how old it is).

You are going to have to guess at the efficiency of the inverter. (If you guess, around 75% to be safe).

I'd rather not have to run my truck during the event. I'll prep for no hookups, but inquire about getting a 120v hookup.
Thanks for the tips and suggestions. Icon_thumbup

Consider getting one of the small, almost silent Honda generators... I have used these 20ya with great success running computer equipment at a golf course. The recent models are quieter still, have auto low oil shutdown, 4 cyc. FWIR one model has 12 volt DC output to charge or run small devices. There are free of RFI but do check specs.

Ya, not cheap but a great resource should one loose power at home or portable power for any reason, suitable for a LOT of LED lights...

Heck, maybe one can be rented for the event...
