Was given a Grunow 1151 console a while ago it has been sitting in the garage and I thought why not bring it upstairs and clean it up a bit to see what it looks like. This thing is heavy as he__. The cabinet is not the best I will clean it up and see. What do you guys know about these radio sets? It has 3, 45 tubes in it I think. The speaker is not original to the radio but there is a tall thing on the bottom of the cabinet that hooks up to the speaker. This part might be why the radio is so heavy. Whatever you can tell me about the set will be helpful. Thanks in advance!

Like picking a car engine eh??
As things go pretty standard fair for a mid end mid 30's set. Uses 6v tube til you get to the output stage then it switches to a pair of 45's (2.5v jobs) Would have expected a pair of 42's either triode or pentode connected. Seems the have a bfo too.

I was down in the basement in my dad's
workshop. Perusing his Sam's Photofoacts
Vol 1-50 admiring the old set and trying to
figure out what all those squiggly meant.
