All, saw this on Craigslist
https://waterloo.craigslist.org/ele/d/al...29822.html What caught my attention was what looks like a magic eye tuning indicator. This is an English Philco model 131. Does this model have an eye tube? I was under the impression that Philco's never used eye tubes.

I once owned a similar Philco (UK) model, and yes, it did indeed have a European eye tube.
I don't think they used a tuning eye in very many models over there - after all, radios were taxed on the basis of tube count in the UK back in ye olden days.

Thanks Ron. Years ago an elderly radio hobbyist told me that there were three things you could never find on a Philco. I remember #1 was wooden knobs, #2 was a magic eye, and I can't remember #3. But I guess he was wrong.
