turn the philco 53 707 into a lamp radio
#1

i just aquired a philco 53 707 clock radio at the top is a factory hole for a lamp.inside the radio is a sticker that states to use only a philco lamp attachment. so my question if i do put a lamp on this set will it effect the value much .i know you purest might throw up at the thought however it was made to have a lamp. thanks for the info

I just looked this set up.

Models 53-706 and 53-707 are identical except for the cabinets, and the fact that the 706 came from the factory with the lamp while the 707 did not.

You might lower the value slightly by adding a lamp to the 707, but right not these are not really "hot" collectibles so I say it's your radio, use the factory hole for a lamp if you wish since the manufacturer apparently gave that option to the original owners. Icon_smile
