Philco 39-116 attachment question
#1

Hello Philco Pfolks
Not sure if this should go in Cabinet or Electronic restoration but seems more cabinet orientated. Please feel free to move it.
I am in the final stretch of a L O N G restoration of a 39-116 and mystery control.  I originally received the radio in pieces.  I am now attaching the speaker to the speaker board ( 4 studs with 4 nuts and fiber washers) and have a question for the phorum.

Was there a thick cardboard spacer/gasket that fit between the speaker lip and speaker board, or was the speaker just mounted directly with the metal rim of the speaker mounted on the wooden board?

It appears that there might have been a ½’ wide washer around rim where the speaker cone mounts to the metal frame, but it may have just been an indentation from a fixture used when the cone was originally attached to the frame.  I’m not sure so I thought I’d ask if anyone was certain how it was mounted.
Thank you,
Fran

The speaker would have been mounted directly to the speaker board; no gasket used.
