Philco push buttons for 39-31XF floor model radio
#1

Can anybody tell me where can I get the push buttons for my 31-39XF Philco? Radio Daze has push button parts numbers PB-Phil 41-W and PB-Phil-41-B, but they are for a Philco 40-180. Will they interchange? The distance from the face of the escutcheon to the beginning of the prong on my 31-39XF is approximately 3/4 inches!!

Thanks,

Hi Jim

I believe you mean 39-31XF, not 31-39. I took the liberty of correcting the thread title.

Radio Daze does not sell 1939 reproduction pushbuttons. Larry Bordonaro at Old-Time Replications does sell these. I've heard he has been having some health issues, though, but you should email him anyway and ask about these - and include a "get well soon" note as well!

Ed "Blacksmith" at Renovated Radios also sells these. You can see them at his website:

Also looking for a speaker for my Philco 39-31XF. I picked it up for $50 earlier this month. Cabinet is showroom perfect, chassis looks very clean, but it has no speaker! I read that these were first made in June 1938??

Can't help you on the speaker, sorry. You need to place a "Wanted" ad for that.

Yes, the 1939 Philco model line was introduced in June 1938.

@ Jim,
I have some original Philco pushbuttons I can part with. I don't know how many you need but I have 7 I'd let go for $2 each plus shipping. They are the kind listed on the "renovated" site listed above--his part # PBPh40 (W) "short." Email me at artdrhs@yahoo.com if you are interested.
