model 50-1718 not working

can anyone tell me this. my model 50-1718 was working and now it doesn't none of the tubes light up when its plugged in. if one of the tubes are bad will it keep my 50-1718 from working. if it is a tube how do i tell which one is bad.

thank you all i am new to this but love old philco radio probably going to buy 3 more this weekend not model 50-1718 but other ones.

Hi Jim,
Yes on your set if one of the tubes filament is burned out (open) none of the others will lite up.So I've got a few questions for you. Can you read schematic? Do you know how to count the pins on your tubes? Do you have a volt/ohm meter? Schematic is here http://www.nostalgiaair.org/PagesByModel...013683.pdf

answers to your questions 1st yes i can read schematics, 2nd yes i think i know how to count the pins, and yes i have a voltmeter.

Ok, So to test the filament on the loctal tubes measure across pins 1 and 8 and the octals across pins 2 and 7. Should show a very low resistance if good.
