Philco model 76 lowboy
#1

Have aquired an old model 76 lowboy that I want to restore, and was told that I should re-cap and install a fuse.
Anyone have diagrams as far as where the fuse should be spliced in?
I was told on the center tap(B+)and the wire to the number 280(80) tube.
I also noticed the speaker has been repaired many times,so I may need a different speaker.
Anyone have a model H speker laying around that they don't need?
Very interesting forum.
I could read these posts for hours.
Thanks for your help,
Murf

Hi and welcome to the Phourm!
The easiest way to fuse it would be to connect in series with the cord going into the set. .75 amp should work fine and give you some protection. As for the speaker if you are clever you may be able to recone the one you have. There are lots of cones on that auction site. I'm getting a few for a model 20/21 speaker which I'm going to give it a try.

I was down in the basement in my dad's
workshop. Perusing his Sam's Photofoacts
Vol 1-50 admiring the old set and trying to
figure out what all those squiggly meant.

Now I think I've got!
