Source for speaker grill cloth for model 70
#1

I was looking for a source for original speaker grill cloth for my model 70. I just checked out radiodaze but was horrified to see that they are discontinued. Does anyone here know of a good reliable source to find a replacement that mimicks the original?

No kidding? I'd hate to have to buy something from a Ben Franklin or Good Will. Hmmm.l

Look at ARS http://www.tubesandmore.com/

Pattern S-G431F might be as close as you can get (now).

Those on-line pictures at ARS are hard for me to relate to the actual pattern because they're not very sharp. I have a sample of almost all the clothes but ARS uses a different # system than Grillecloth.com and RadioDaze so I can't really tell much about S-G431F.

My recommendation is to try and salvage the original piece or just find something that looks decent for the time being. Eventually a new source will be found and that Philco pattern along with some popular Zenith patterns should be among the first to hit the streets and you can replace it then.

The one in place now is fine, t's just not even close to the original, and looks a bit drab. I'll figure something out, or just wait until someone else picks up the torch!

No source right now but hopefully again soon, if not someone else will have to step up to the plate.
