Keep the same thread, questions on 12 Caps please
#1

Ok you have seen this thread but looking for the value of the three caps on a late model 112 (47 output tubes). The three I'm looking for are the ones used in the tone control switch. Appreciate some help here. Not labeled on the schematic. Thanks for any help.
Jerry

Can anyone suggest a grill cloth that would be as close as possible to original for the above model? The one I just received has black! It looks old but doubt if it's right.
Thanks, Jerry

Can anyone tell me the value of caps in the three metal cans shown in the above? This is a later model 112 with the 47 output tubes. Awaiting better reading schematics from Chuck but hope to get a order in for caps.

Pattern 42 or 64 - not original but better than black.

Those two patterns (42 and 64) look better in person than how they show up on-line. The actual samples don't have that red or orange tint..... at least that's how they show up on my monitor.

As our traditional sources of grille cloth dry up we may want to investigate other sources like the site Mike Koste mentions:

While some look like grillecloth.com patterns they might have a few different styles.

The original pattern that was used in these sets was a stylized "P" that repeated itself, right side up and upside down, over the entire cloth.

This pattern was never reproduced.

I think S-G431F from Antique Electronics Supply would be a better choice, but that's just one man's opinion. This pattern is no longer available from Radio Grille Cloth Headquarters. This is a cross between the old patterns 1 and 2, a mixture of whiskey and copper colors.
