PHILCO in Blue Bell ice cream ad
#1

Our local TV stations have lately been running a commercial for Blue Bell ice cream...the one with "Grandpa" in it. If you don't blink your eyes at the right (or wrong) time, you can see an old Philco console in the background. It'd shown for only a second but it appears it's a Philco 38-4 or a 38-7. Can anyone say definitively what it is? Anyone else seen it?

Hmm, I've not seen that commercial around here. Must be a more local or regional brand? I'll keep an eye out though. Believe it or not, my 38-4 was destined to become a prop when I managed to buy it right before the guy was supposed to come look at it from a southern TV production company. It is in better hands with me. Icon_smile

No matter where you go, there you are.

Blue Bell Ice Cream is based in Texas and is only sold in Southern states.

BTW, it is darn good ice cream. 8)

It's not how bad you mess up, it's how well you can recover.

The commercial is on You Tube if you're interested. Even if you're not, it's still on there!

Link?

Never mind, here it is, folks:

By the way, it's a 38-4 - notice the wide spacing between the lower three knobs. The 38-7's three knobs are closer together.

P.S. You're welcome.

Eric,
I don't live in the south. It's sold here.

Hello Art,
Where's here?
I read that they sell it in 22 states, mostly Southern states, from Arizona to Florida and up into Virginia.

It's not how bad you mess up, it's how well you can recover.

Saw it lastnight on Altitude Sports out of Denver covering the Rockies baseball game. John
