In restoring a Philco 37-10 I find that the 6H6G discriminator tube is not wired as shown on the schematic. The connections to the plates and cathodes are reversed; my set has the plates going to 2 meg resistors 60 and 61, and the cathodes going to coil 48. The schematic shows it the other way around. Is this a drawing error, or a modification? I hope someone can shed some light on this. I just today got the radio to playing (it seems to play well), and have not yet reassembled the Magnetic Tuning apparatus (I need a new dial from Mark Oppat.) Thanks for any help. Charrday

I moved this thread to the restoration forum. Seems more appropriate.

Do you have a pic of how your radio is currently hooked up. This radio 37_10 I was told is like the mod in my 38_15.

I think its a known mod based on this service bulletin:

You can see the full bulletin in the 1937 section listed as "Changes: July 1937"

Running changes to Philco sets made between 1933 and 1938 are available here:

Look for the file

Thanks. I'm not new to radio restoring, but, like an old magazine, an old radio I've not worked on before is new until I become familiar with it.
