38-690 code 121

Howdy guys, just got a 38-690 code 121,what are the differences between this and the code 125 in N.A.'s schematic?

i have a 125. It was easy to restore and align compared to how I believe your is laid out. From what I learned, the older one has more adjustments for the SW bands and is tougher to work on, not unlike the 37/38 116 chassis differences.

I have one of each of the 116's also and the 121 looks like it is going to be harder from the point of getting to the all the caps/resistors you may need to replace compared to the newer one. I am pretty sure the same layout is in the 690's, but at least there are two chassis so it may not be as tight.

You need a lot more time and maybe a little more ingenuity to work on the 121 versions. But i am not an expert either, just my opinion. I defer to one of the forum experts.

There are some changes listed in the file that Ron has on the downloads section: http://philcoradio.com/phorum/attachment.php?aid=799 .

If you don't mind me asking, where did you turn up such a gem?

It was local to me,about a five hour round trip, listed on ARF in the Classifieds.
