Reprodet???
#1

Was just given a Reprodet lamp radio. The radio is a Philco model 54-6182-1. Can find nothing on this is in any of my references. I am guessing that Reprodet was a Philadelphia company using Philco chassis? It works great- has all original Philco parts. Even the lamp works- original shade according to the person who gave it to me.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Joe
Will post photos when I get it back together.

Hopefully someone can tell you more about this particular radio.. But, I wanted to let you know it isnt very safe to use an old radio like this without changing the capacitors to new. At any time one could go out and could do harm to the transformer (which is very hard to get a new one) or even catch fire. Before you play the radio anymore you need to replace them, they are on borrowed time.

Warren, I guess this isn't you then? http://www.nostalgiaair.org/forums/Messa...086959.htm

It might be worth asking on that board, it looks like someone has it.

No, that must be another "Warren". That's not me....

Further complicating things is the fact that 54-6182-1 is a Philco part number, not a model number...

Thanks guys,
Radio has been only brought up on variac, would never play without servicing.
Ron, The number from the earlier post was found on the bottom of chassis- probably that part number. The only other number I found was XX 16703.

That is the part number of the blank PC panel. That part was used in 1956/57 for some 5 AM tube radios and portable phonos with AM radio.
