Working on this unit, & it has .01 line caps in one of those phamous tar
blocks. Was wondering if .033 or .047 safety caps will work here since
I have these values, or should I get the correct ones??

get the correct ones. Using two 0.047uF caps you get equivalent of 0.1uF. You will be exceeding safety touch current many times.
Make them Y-rated.
