Bought Stromberg Carlson AWP8
#16

Yes, Keith,

I have been seeing it there for the longest time also.
Well, some folks are slow to get the message. All I can say to that.

It came yesterday.
Was packed well.
No damage to the box.
The radio itself in a quite decent shape, some not too bad wear on the outside of the case, no tears though.
The thermometer (the round thingie on the right when you look at the face panel) came out, but it is undamaged, and it is not secured - it is just inserted and held by friction. I just put it back in.

A fresh D-size battery inside - I think it is the dial light, so they probably tried to work it, or maybe it actually works. Who knows. Uses miniature tubes.

Will give it another good look today.

Nothing finer than a Stromberg Carlson. Good luck.

It is in very good shape. Unlike the other radio....
Well, off to leave the positive feedback.

PS. And it has manual, warranty card and all. Boy it will be fun to make it play!

Congratulations! I took a peek at the photo of an AWP8 on the Attic; that is one sweet radio. Post your photo's soon. Maybe a how-to on restoration...? Regards, Joe
