16b bakelite cap question
#1

I'm working a 16b-code125 chassis. I have a question about caps in bakelite block #97 on schem. It calls for .3 on schem. and it is a twin cap block. #6287 F which the bakelite chart shows it should have 2-.15 caps inside.
The caps were both connected to lug 1 and then one to lug 2 and other to lug 3 with a wire jumping from 2 to 3.
Did Philco use two .15 caps in parrallel to get the .3 value?
Using capacitor calculator it shows .03 as the value.
I'm down to 2 more bakelite blocks to rebuild and want to make sure I'm clear on what values to use. Thanks . [Image: http://i1336.photobucket.com/albums/o654...5f487c.jpg]t Sorry for the poor schem.

Capacitors connected in parallel are additive. 0.15 + 0.15 = 0.30 uF

Thanks Bob. I can get it finished now.
#4

What kind of capacitive calculator gives 0.03 for two 0.15 in parallel?
#5

The kind when you put the WRONG values in. Going back and checking I put .015 in formula.
Lately I'm getting gun shy to ask questions on here. Seems I'm always screwing up the question.

Happens. Don't sweat it.
