My chassis is done and working fine. However, there was a problem again with the dial gear. The high speed tuning was working fine on BC and ##4 and 5 bands, however slipping on the ##2 and 3. All tires and large rubber wheel had been replaced, of course. Drove me crazy for some time.
The problem was the tuner mounting. It appears, that, unless it it mounted exactly in center (and it is very easy to not center it during installation) the band switch push rod rivet rubs against the high speed rubber tire. Releasing and shifting the tuner 1MM away completely solved the issue.

Fields, how did you clean up the tube shields? They look very shiny and polished.

They are just wheel polished with a compound. So far I have not noticed any oxidation.I could have also nickel plated them, but there is a minimum charge which is steep for just one set of shields. One day I'll take them from all radios and plate them. Shields were easy thing to do. The rivet thing drove me nuts.
