Water slide decal dial overlay?
#1

Has anybody made water slide decals using an laser jet printer to overlay a wiped dial? If one could get a scan of a good dial it seems that it might work with a little photoshop action.

Haven't tried it butr there is no reason you couldnt do it, IF you can find blank water slide decals to print it on.

I went to Kinkos with a Jpeg of the dial. They put in on in reverse so when I applied it on the back of the glass it looked great. It cost me $15.00. Worth it!

Hobby lobby sells blank, clear water slide decals. 6-5x7 sheets. I use them to make the gold philco decals.

It's pretty easy to do with an inkjet printer and decal paper. Make sure to set your printer to the "Glossy" setting to prevent smudging. Also, you need to spray the decal with decal set (like Krylon crystal clear acrylic) to prevent the ink from running.

Great. Now if I can just find a good image of the dial in question. philco 38-10 that I started some time ago and still can't get around to finishing. When I do I will continue a posting that I already started.

Thanks
