1950 Philco 50T-1477
#1

I talked to a guy who has this TV for sale. At first he wanted $2000. After we talked a bit he did say that he had an offer for $500. I told him to run it over there right now because that is about 10X what it is worth. We talked a bit and I ended up saying that if that deal falls through, let me know. Well a couple of hours later I get an email asking me for an offer.

What do you think would be a fair offer? I haven't seen it in person, but it might be rusty. He want s to get it out of the garage.

It's an uncommon model, but looks pretty rough. There's phonograph in the top and I wonder what condition it's in. Even if it's not rusty, that cabinet will need a lot of work. Also needs new grille cloth and the safety glass looks like it is starting to separate at the top.

Personally, I might go $100 because I like this model, like a challenge and have spare parts.

Thanks Bob for the quick reply.

The $500 offer was either a phoney one designed to get you to make a counter offer, or the guy who offered it did so conditionally and upon seeing decided to pass on it.

Not sure.  He hasn't called me back and it is still listed.

Most local trash authorities will not pick up. Pass.
