My Philco 53-960
#1

I bought this radio almost two years ago and finally got around to refurbishing it.  Just finished and I'm happy with how it sounds.  I read threads on the Phorum about restoration of the 53-960 and found very useful information.  Thanks to those authors for helping me.  Next job is a high school classmate's Philco 38-3.

You can see and hear it at https://youtu.be/yVo3Q8siVig

I think I have this one waiting in line too. I mean the Tropic.

People who do not drink, do not smoke, do not eat red meat will one day feel really stupid lying there and dying from nothing.

Very nice Larry. I restored one last year. They do sound good. I bought some LEDs from pinball life to use in the dial lite. Learned that from Ron when he restored one awhile back, still got to put them in.

Nice job. Looks and sounds great.

Thanks guys!  I read about the LED light mod too; maybe I'll do that in the future if I ever get caught up with other radios I need to work on.
