Another radio needing ID'ing
#1

Ok, here's the deal, recieved this chasis, free, from a fellow at work. Supposedly he'd just removed it from where it had been built into the wall of his house. He estimates it to be a mid to late 50's model (the age of his house).

The handwriting plus the hand written tag on the back ID it as a Capehart Model 1001. In my preliminary searches I didn't find much. Some capehart references, but the schematics I did find for the 1001 didn't seem to match up with the chassis layout or tube compliment that I have. If it really is a capehart I assume that it was split off from a record player/radio combo?

I'm looking for a more positive ID than what's on the chassis and a schematic if possible. I checked Nostalg-air and a few other sources.....Who's up for a good search?

Well Carl, I guess that puts that question to bed.........I'm suprised that I didn't find that one myself, of course I wasn't looking for those model numbers either...

Thanks.
