The calibration steps for AC section calls for setting function switch to 3v -10v-30v - 100v
at each volts setting you are supposed to use an sinusoidal RMS voltage at 5000 cycles.
How do you get 5000 cycles for each voltage called for?
What would you use to do produce that? Thanks

I realize this is an old thread, but I figured I'd reply. I finished a 7001 restoration earlier this year that turned out great.
There's really no way to calibrate the AC ranges without an AC calibrator. I picked up one of these on eBay a few years back that works well-

It is a Fluke 5200A from the 70's. It is good for the various frequencies required to calibrate vintage meters. If you want to just calibrate the meter a 60 Hz using a variac and a good digital AC meter you'll find it won't be too far off.
BTW - if anyone else is doing one of these I painstakingly re-generated the meter scale and printed it on photo paper for my restoration. I would be willing to barter for this image.
