1959 Philco 1606S: Missing Needle
#1

My father in law recently gave me his mother's 1959 Philco 1606S. Everything appears to be in working order except there is no needle/stylus cartridge. I have spent several hours trying to figure out what parts I would need in order to be able to take this for a listen, but am coming up short on what replacement parts I need. Any help would be most appreciated!

Hi and welcome,

Give these guys a try: https://www.thevoiceofmusic.com/

When my pals were reading comic books
I was down in the basement in my dad's
workshop. Perusing his Sam's Photofoacts
Vol 1-50 admiring the old set and trying to
figure out what all those squiggly meant.
Circa 1966
Now I think I've got!

Thanks for the information, Terry! I had not run across this resource.

The thing I'm struggling with is figuring out which part I need for the replacement cartridge.

I emailed The Voice of Music team in hopes they can help me identify which specific part is needed. I'm afraid they are unavailable. Any suggestions on what to do if parts are no longer available?

Have patience, I've purchased several items from them recently.

Gary from W-M Audio Enthusiast was so helpful. Helped me identify the cartridge needed (P226) and the HP-4 screw kit. He also sent instructions for installing. What a great asset and help! You can find their website here: https://www.thevoiceofmusic.com
