The buttons ,HAM,POLICE, and PUSH BUTTON work, but I get nothing on BROADCAST mode. Any obvious solution would be appreciated. I am not a restorer and just enjoy the radio. Thank you

Hi

I would begin by spraying the band switch, preferably with DeOxit but a good contact cleaner might also work.

If I am understanding you correctly, the radio is picking up AM station with the pushbuttons, but not on dial tuning? That might rule out the local oscillator, and again point to the band switch - depending on its circuitry; don't rule out the oscillator entirely before thorough tests, voltage checks, etc. Now if you aren't getting any AM stations with the pushbuttons, then the oscillator circuit becomes a definite culprit.

No, it's not a problem, just during certain condition it could show up. Yes, an internal tube short could do that too. ...morzh — 09:13 AM
