philco 53-1750
#1

Hi, I just found this forum. I have a philco 53=1750 that has a turntable and am/fm stereo. It also has table leaves that extend out to make a nice card table.

I used to use this radio all the time. It had a beautiful warm sound. Long story short my roommate's nephews came to visit and now the tuning knob doesn't seem to be switching any stations, like it's just twisting without being connected to anything. When I turn it on the light comes on and starts making that "warming up" sound but no radio.

Bottom line is I can't afford to fix it and I hate for it to sit there unused. Is there anyone in central texas who would be willing to take a look at it for me to give me an idea whether it's even worth fixing? If I can't find anyone I'll need to sell it as is and hope it doesn't end up in someone's attic forever. Thanks for reading.
