Headphones for 37-116X Console
#1

I am restoring my Philco 37-116X manual tuning console. I would like to add a phono jack for 2000 ohm headphones and a switch to select between the speaker and the headphones. I would like to find out how to wire them in?

You're much better and safer with standard 8 ohm headphones switched from the audio out transformer secondary (voice coil side).

This set uses push-pull output design and you cannot simply connect to the high impedance side of the output transformer without a lot of mods and having the possibility of high voltage on the headphones!!
