This Model 71 was purchased new by my wife's grandparents in 1932. Her father gave it to us this past Christmas. Needed a LOT of work, as you can imagine. The radio chassis is over at a friend's place being worked on, so my wife & I tackled the cabinet. This is what it looked like when we got it:

Removed the old finish with acetone & #0000 steel wool. Used three Mohawk toners to redo it: perfect brown on the sides, brown mahogany on the trim, and dark walnut in the center. The logo is a decal and the grill cloth is a reproduction from eBay.
Doesn't look too bad for our first effort! It helps that my wife is a woodworker.
