identifying age of philco radio
#1

I inherited a philco am clock radio. The model # is J772-124 and serial number is 98172. How can I find out the year of this radio, and ultimately what it may be worth (FMV)?

Thanks in advance.

Hi

The leading letter in the set's model number tells the model year of your Philco, which in this case is 1961 (J = 1961).

The following page explains in detail how to determine the model year of Philco sets made between 1937 and 1969:

I'm afraid this particular model still has very little collector value (around $20 or less), so you won't be able to retire from the sale of this one.
