Thanks for helpful the explanation. I'll be sure to replace the cord with one that has a polarized plug. I hope to get the radio finished this month. Can't wait to fire it up (with iso-transformer and hands in my pocket! 8)

Could not agree more with exray. Whether you rent or own, its a good idea to buy one of the outlet/receptacle checker (usually three prong) and check all outlets in home. If any not correctly wired have landlord or yourself rewire correctly. Of course if you have the older two prong outlets/receptacles polarized plug will only work through converter plug but now you are back to 50/50 chance chassis will be hot. PL

What is the size of the cap. I saved the "can" (it phenol/bakalite) from a motor starter cap that is 1 1/2" rd by 2 3/4" high that could be painted aluminim. Would not be perfect match but would work if you figure some way to mount if not clamped on. PL
