Philco 118 versions
#1

Hello all, just a quick question about who to see here that would be a good place to get service info (schematic, etc) for what I think must be a kind of a variation of Philco 118, 118 code 124, 118 code 124-A...anyway, it's a 118 something. I'm willing to pay a reasonable amount. Maybe I just need to buy a schematic of each version available just to make sure I get the one I really need. There seems to be some very suttle differences between any print I can find on line and the actual wiring in this set. No markings let on chassis to help. but this one is the two band version, band coverage marked on dial=53 to 170, (530 to 1700 kHz) band 2=4.2 to 12.0 (mHz). The multi section bypass cap-in-a-can is the four section version, marked 1-1-1-2MFD and 450-350-350-300, also, mine has the 2900 ohm resistor across the "shadow tuning indicator" so maybe that helps narrow down the options some. I hope that helps to find the correct print, I've been about to start pulling out the hair I have left, going back and forth between my set and two or three prints I have that I was able to find online (Nostalgia  Air) and between these it's just about to drive me nuts, and that's not a very long drive most days! They are all sooooo close but no cigar. I've read all the threads here I could find on the 18/118 and it seems this topic has been discussed here before, at lenght, so much length that I got even more confused!!! Anyway, I keep hearing how good a set these are when working and would really like to know myself so any help in this area would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance,

Steve
